The Custom Cap & Apparel Buying Guide

How to choose custom caps and apparel for your team: style, embroidery vs print, fit, logo placement, quantity and proofs. A simple step-by-step guide.

New to ordering custom gear? This guide walks you through choosing the right product, decoration, fit, and quantity, so your order comes out exactly how you pictured it.

1. Choose your style

Start with what fits your crew and setting:

2. Embroidery or print?

Embroidery is our signature: durable, premium, and dimensional, ideal for logos and text on caps and heavier apparel. Print/transfer suits full-color artwork and large designs on lightweight tees. Not sure which fits your art? Our Size & Placement Guide breaks it down.

3. Nail the fit

Most caps are one-size adjustable, with fitted and youth options on some styles; apparel runs true to standard US sizing. Full measurements are in the Size & Placement Guide.

4. Pick your logo placement

You choose the spot (front, back, sides, or sleeves) right in the online designer, and preview it live. See standard placements and maximum embroidery sizes in the Size & Placement Guide.

5. Plan quantity & budget

There are no minimums. Order one or one thousand. Bulk discounts apply automatically as quantity grows (starting at 12+ items), so larger team orders cost less per piece. See the tiers and estimate your savings on the Bulk & Team Orders page.

6. Proof & turnaround

What you design online is what we stitch, and you preview it before ordering. On orders of $250+, you also get a free physical sew-out to approve before the full run. For turnaround and more, see the FAQ.
